Sussex County ASA (the association) collects and holds personal data for the purposes of communication with its affiliated members and registered users and for managing access to services on its web site. The data comprises names, contact details and personalisation settings of past and current members and registered users and is compiled and held in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Our privacy and cookie policy is available here, including contact details for query or complaint in connection with the information we hold about you.

How the association uses your personal data

Personal data is used to identify past and current members and registered users and provide them with information regarding the association and the activities and events it organises. The names and contact details of all affiliated members and registered users constitute a mailing list used to distribute, either by post or by e-mail, information related to the organisation and aquatic activities. The mailing list may, from time to time, be used to distribute material for third parties. In these cases the material distributed must be relevant to aquatics. The mailing list or other personal data is not given or sold to any third party.

Personal information on the website

The website (community.sussexswimming.org) provides a mechanism for site users to register and access association services.  Certain contact information is required in order to provide these services and this information is held on the organisation's web server. Registered users may check or update their personal details on the web site as required.

Access to personal data is strictly limited to the individual and the organisation's secretariat.  All personal information is encrypted during transmission between the server and a user's browser.

Cookies

The website uses browser cookies to allow page selections and information entered, such as search criteria, to be saved between successive page viewings in a user's browsing session. These cookies contain randomly generated numbers that can be used to track the sequence of browsing actions performed by a user, but they remain anonymous and cannot be used to identify any individual. The cookies are 'session cookies': they are stored on the user's computer for the duration of their browsing session and are deleted when the browser is closed.
